𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗗 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗫 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝟰,𝟳𝟬𝟭 𝗟𝗔𝗚 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀

A total of 4,701 beneficiaries throughout Northern Mindanao has received the Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X.

DSWD Field Office X workers distributed the livelihood assistance in the towns of Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, releasing a total amount of P42,500,000.00 for 88.40% of the 5,318 target beneficiaries.

LAG is part of the response initiatives of the national government in addressing the economic crisis faced by the poor and most vulnerable due to the health pandemic. 

Rhandy Ladoroz, Regional Program Coordinator of SLP, emphasized the importance of utilizing the money intended for their respective livelihood projects. 

Before the payout, DSWD workers in coordination with local government units validated prospective beneficiaries, prioritizing those who belong to the informal sector, whose source of income was affected by the community quarantine, whether through enterprise or employment.

The local government units have been supporting the implementation of LAG in their locality because it will help their small and medium entrepreneurs sustain from the ill-effects of the quarantine, and consequently live back to normalcy. 

DSWD workers have expressed their gratitude to the troopers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police for securing the payout team, beneficiaries, and money for the beneficiaries. 

Ladoroz said he is thankful to PCol Rolindo Macahilos Suguilon, Provincial Police Director of Misamis Occidental for closely working together with the LGU and DSWD workers, ensuring the safety and security of the team during payouts in Misamis Occidental areas.

Ladoroz also expressed his gratitude to the members of the Tau Gamma Phi of Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental for providing free face masks, face shields, and snacks, and for ensuring compliance with health protocols inside the payout venue.

LAG is an ongoing effort of SLP as there will be more payouts in the months to come based on the funds available for Region 10. 

For those who wish to avail of livelihood assistance, DSWD is advising the public to coordinate with their respective local social welfare and development offices (LSWDOs). The LSWDOs are responsible for endorsing the names of prospective LAG grantees to DSWD.
